In character creation, the magic is in your hands. You can choose your appearance, house, and gender, and even customize your character's voice, body type, and add some wizardly accessories like glasses. With level progression, you'll unlock new spells, talents, and abilities, making you a true master of the wizarding arts. Experience points are gained through a variety of in-game challenges, such as combat, quests, exploration, field guide pages, and even a mysterious Room of Requirement!

Plot
Hogwarts Legacy takes you back in time to the year 1899 where you'll get to play as a fifth-year student starting at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Voiced by either Sebastian Croft or Amelia Gething, you'll be tasked with discovering an ancient secret that threatens to destroy the wizarding world. With your wizard field guide provided by the Ministry of Magic, you'll embark on a journey filled with exploration and learning, gaining valuable experience points as you complete each section.
You'll have the guidance of the mentor-like Professor Eleazar Fig, along with new characters Professor Onai, Professor Shah, Professor Matilda Weasley, Phineas Nigellus Black and fellow students Amit Thakkar, Everett Clopton, Natsai Onai, Poppy Sweeting, and Sebastian Sallow. These companions will accompany you on your journey, expanding your abilities and offering unique dialogue options as you get to know their stories.
But be warned, dark forces are at work, with Ranrok leading the Goblin Rebellion and Victor Rookwood heading a group of Dark Wizards who are seeking to harness the ancient magic that you hold the key to.
